Ghost of Yotei: All Stats, Explained
There are 6 stats in Ghost of Yotei, and each of them is responsible for increasing the power and potential of Atsu’s abilities. It’s not exactly made clear what these stats mean, so we’ll go through and explain what every stat does in Ghost of Yotei, and how they can be increased so that you can craft the perfect Onryo to hunt the Yotei Six and the Saito Outlaws to become the protector that Ezo so desperately needs.
What Does the Onryo Stat Do & How to Upgrade It in Ghost of Yotei
The Onryo stat relates to Atsu’s Terrify ability. This means that players can upgrade the stat to increase the chance that enemies are Terrified, which is achieved by killing enemies, throwing weapons at them, and performing the Onryo ability. If an enemy is Terrified, then they will not fight back and can drop their weapons, making them an easy kill. Players can upgrade the Onryo stat by using Charms and Armor that focus on Terrify.
What Does the Melee Stat Do & How to Upgrade It in Ghost of Yotei
The Melee stat affects how much damage and effectiveness Atsu has in close-range combat with her Katana and other melee weapons. Increasing this stat will see Atsu deal more damage with melee weapons, and improve her overall effectiveness with parry damage and overall damage. This can be increased through Combat skills, Charms, and Armor.
What Does the Ranged Stat Do & How to Upgrade It in Ghost of Yotei
The Ranged stat affects the attack speed and power of Ranged Weapons, like Bows and Muskets. Players will want to increase the Ranged stat if they like to use long-range weaponry, as this can boost the damage dealt, the time spent in slow motion, and the reload speed. This stat can be upgraded through Charms, Ranged Skills, and Armor.
What Does the Defense Stat Do & How to Upgrade It in Ghost of Yotei
The Defense stat affects damage absorption and total health, meaning you can take more hits before dying. The Defense stat is important for combat, as players can use Charms and different Armor/Outfits to increase the stat, ensuring that they’re increasing their Stagger resistance, Parry window, and overall damage reduction from enemy attacks and environmental damage like frost and fire.
What Does the Utility Stat Do & How to Upgrade It in Ghost of Yotei
The Utility stat will improve the effectiveness of cooking, crafting, and scavenging. The Utility stat is more passive than the other stats and isn’t used at all for combat. Instead, players will see a bonus to the Utility stat if they use Charms and Outfits that provide extra bonuses for camping, cooking, crafting, and even exploring, which can, in turn, provide more loot from enemies and nature pickups, or add bonuses upon eating and foraging.
What Does the Stealth Stat Do & How to Upgrade It in Ghost of Yotei
The Stealth stat affects how fast enemies can detect you during stealth and your overall sound. Improving the Stealth stat can be achieved with Charms and Armor, as you can grant yourself bonuses like muffled footsteps when sprinting, or even Charms that increase the amount of time it will take for an enemy to notice you, or the speed it takes to perform an assassination.
